Add text, images, dates and marks as overlays. Place and resize a signature image. Fill supported existing AcroForm fields.
Protect & redact
Set or remove PDF passwords when authorized. Apply redaction that replaces affected pages with flattened pixels, removing their original text and objects.
Read a scan
Local English OCR adds a searchable text layer to scanned PDFs. Recognition accuracy depends on scan quality; review important text.
Convert for work
DOCX → PDF and PDF → editable DOCX using installed Microsoft Word. Extract detected tables to editable XLSX without needing Excel installed.
Present & mark
Export PDF pages as image-based PowerPoint slides without needing PowerPoint installed. Add watermarks, page numbers, headers and footers.
Know what to expect.
Editing means adding overlays. SimplePDF does not offer full in-place rewriting or reflow of existing PDF text. Form filling supports existing AcroForms, not every form technology.
Conversions need review. Word conversions require installed, activated Microsoft Word (2013 or later for PDF → Word). Layout, fonts, tables and form values may change. Scanned PDFs need OCR before text extraction. Excel table detection depends on document structure. PowerPoint exports contain page images, not editable slide text.
Redaction has trade-offs. Affected pages are flattened, so remaining text on those pages is no longer selectable. A signature image is not a certificate-based digital signature.
System and connectivity. Windows 10 version 2004 or newer, x64 only. No macOS version is currently offered. Licensing and checkout use internet services; verified offline Pro access is time-limited to a maximum of 72 hours and may end earlier. Optional local AI PDF features need a separately obtained compatible model, not included in the installer.
